Our blood is constantly moving. It has to fulfill various vital tasks, such as supplying the individual organs and parts of the body. If the flow is reduced or even completely blocked, there will be an undersupply that can be life-threatening. Such occlusions are called an embolism caused by blood clots. When the blood tends to clot more, more blood clots are formed, increasing the risk of a blocked artery. The result is strokes, heart attacks or thrombosis. ASA or acetylsalicylic acid is a painkiller that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and diclofenac. It relieves minor pains such as headaches and body aches and has an antipyretic effect. Because of its blood-thinning properties, ASA is also prescribed in small amounts to prevent heart attacks and strokes. It is also used in the acute treatment of infarctions. ASS-ratiopharm Protect also uses these properties to better protect you from blood clots in the future.

Please take the tablets without chewing, preferably before a meal, with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water). For treatment of acute myocardial infarction, the first enteric-coated tablet should be crushed or chewed. ASS-ratiopharm PROTECT 100 mg is intended for long-term use. The duration of the usage will be decided by the medicating doctor.
