The composition of
1 g of gel contains 50 mg or 100 mg of benzoyl peroxide.
Action
Anti-acne agent with oxidizing properties. It has antibacterial, keratolytic, stimulatory effect on granulation processes and collagen synthesis. Oxygen released from benzoyl peroxide inhibits the growth of anaerobic bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, considered one of the causes of acne vulgaris. The preparation as a result of antibacterial and keratolytic activity reduces the number of blackheads and inflammation. It improves the supply of tissues with oxygen. It easily penetrates into the stratum corneum, where it is metabolized in keratinocytes and excreted in the urine.
Indications
Various forms of acne vulgaris.
Dosage
Outwardly. Adults and children over 12 years of age: after washing and drying the skin, a small amount of 5% of the gel is rubbed gently into the affected areas once a day for 2-3 weeks. If necessary, treatment is continued with a 10% gel.
Remarks
Protect the conjunctiva and mucous membranes of the nose and mouth from contact with the preparation. The preparation may cause contact discoloration of hair and fabrics.
