Action of Bisacodyl tablets:
The active substance of bisacodyl acts directly on the large intestine, where it affects the nerve plexuses of the mucosa. It stimulates the intestinal peristalsis by reducing the absorption of water and electrolytes, thus loosening the stool mass and facilitating defecation. The preparation also has a carminative effect. The preparation works about 6-12 hours after taking it.
Use in the case of constipation - habitual and chronic constipation in seriously ill patients, habitual constipation in the elderly, constipation caused by dietary changes and constipation in the postoperative period. Indicated for use before diagnostic tests and surgery to empty the intestines.
Do not use in children under 4 years of age in the case of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation. Do not use in acute abdominal syndrome, abdominal pain of unknown etiology and accompanying nausea and vomiting, in the case of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and gastrointestinal bleeding, and severe dehydration.
Very rarely occurring allergic and anaphylactoid reactions.
Directions for use:
Always take the tablets with plenty of water, swallow them whole, do not crush or chew them. Children from 4 to 10 years of age: 1 tablet taken at night. Adults and children over 10 years of age: 1-2 tablets taken at night. In the case of the elderly, patients with impaired liver and kidney function do not need to change doses.
