CICLOPIROX beta, nail polish, fungal nail treatment indication

  • The preparation is a nail polish containing active ingredients. It contains the active substance ciclopirox, which belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals. Ciclopirox penetrates the nail plate and exerts an antifungal effect on all major causes of fungal nail disease.
  • It is used to treat fungal nail infections (onychomycoses).

CICLOPIROX beta, nail polish, fungal nail treatment dosage

  • Always use this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • During the period of use, you should remove the complete coat of paint once a week with a commercially available alcohol swab. During this process, you should also remove heavily calloused material from the nail plate as much as possible with a disposable nail file.
  • If the varnish layer is damaged between two applications, it is sufficient if you only coat the chipped areas with sufficient nail varnish.

    • The duration of treatment depends on the extent of the infection, but should not exceed 6 months.

 

  • If you use more than you should
    • Cases of overdose have not been reported.

 

  • If you forgot the application
    • Do not apply twice if you forget the previous application. Continue treatment as recommended by your doctor or as explained.

 

  • you cancel the application
    • If you stop using the preparation before your nails have healed or their appearance has improved significantly and healthy nails have grown back, the fungus may not go away. In this case, the condition of your nails can deteriorate again.

CICLOPIROX beta, nail polish, fungal nail treatment way

  • Unless otherwise directed, apply a thin coat of medicated nail polish to the affected nail once daily.
  • Before the first application, you should remove affected parts of the nail as much as possible, e.g. B. with scissors, while heavily calloused areas should be removed as much as possible with a commercially available disposable nail file.
  • It is recommended that you carefully close the cap of the bottle after each use to prevent the solution from drying out.
  • The solution must not come into contact with the screw thread of the bottle, otherwise the cap may stick.

  • In very rare cases, redness and peeling of the skin have been observed.

  • Use together with other medicines
    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or might take/use any other medicines.
  • Use with food, drink and alcohol

Contraindications

  • The drug must not be used
    • if you are allergic to ciclopirox or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
    • in children, since there is currently insufficient experience in this age group
    • during pregnancy and lactation.

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
    • The use of topical drugs, especially over long periods of time, can lead to the development of sensitization phenomena or cause side effects. In these situations, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapeutic measures instituted. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
    • Do not use nail polish or other cosmetic nail products during treatment with the medicine.

      • Since there is insufficient clinical experience, the preparation must not be used in children.

 

  • Ability to drive and use machines
    • The drug has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
