1. What are Cystinol® acute coated tablets and what are they used for?
Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets is an herbal product for the treatment of urinary tract infections.
Cystinol® acute coated tablets are used in case of inflammatory diseases of the lower urinary tract.
2. Before you take Cystinol Acute Coated Tablets
2.1 Do not take Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets
• If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to dry bearberry leaf extract or any of the other ingredients of Cistinol® Acute Coated Tablets,
• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
• If you are under 18 years of age
• For liver disease
• For cardiovascular disease
2.2 Take special care before taking Cystinol® acute coated tablets
• in case of blood in the urine ,
• in case of fever,
• if the complaints do not are affected within 2 days. In these cases you should consult a doctor
2.3 Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Cystinol® acute coated tablets contain bearberry leaf extract and should not be taken with foods and medicines that increase the acidity of the urine (such as methionine), as this process reduces the antibacterial effect of the product.
2.4 Pregnancy and lactation
Tsistinol® acute coated tablets should not be taken during pregnancy and lactation (see 2.1 "Do not take Tsistinol® acute coated tablets)

No special precautions.
2.6 Important information about some of the other ingredients of Cystinol Acute Coated Tablets
This medicine contains lactose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
3. How to take Cystinol® acute coated tablets?
Always take Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets exactly as instructed in this leaflet. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
3.1 Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults and adolescents over 18 years of age should take 2 tablets 3 times a day.
The tablets should be taken with plenty of fluids, preferably water, after a meal.
3.2 Duration of use
Without medical advice Cystinol® acute coated tablets should not be taken for more than one week and no more than 5 times a year.
Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you feel that the effect of the tablets is too strong or too weak.
3.3 If you take more Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets than you should
Do not take more Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets per day than indicated in the instructions for use or prescribed by your doctor. However, taking amounts outside the instructions for use can cause significant complaints such as gastrointestinal upset with nausea and vomiting, but also blood in the urine and liver damage. In this case, you should immediately stop taking Cystinol® acute coated tablets and consult a doctor. May cause green-brown discolouration of urine which darkens when exposed to air.
3.4 If you forget to take Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets
If you miss a dose, continue as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
3.5 If you stop taking Cystinol® acute coated tablets,
your doctor should examine you and assess whether the treatment has been successful so far, ie. there should be no bacteria in the urine and the symptoms of inflammation should have subsided to a great extent.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Estimation of adverse reactions is based on the following frequency percentages:
Very common: (> 1/10)
common: (> 1/100 to <1/10)
uncommon: (> 1 / 1,000 to <1/100)
rare: > 1 / 10,000 to <1 / 1,000)
Very rare: (<1 / 10,000)
Not known: (cannot be estimated from the available data)
Possible side effects
Rarely, in sensitive patients gastric -interest complaints (nausea and vomiting).
Allergic reactions may occur very rarely.
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects apply to you, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.
In case of side effects, treatment should be stopped, a doctor should be consulted and additional measures taken if necessary.
At the first signs of hypersensitivity reactions, the product Cystinol® acute coated tablets should be discontinued immediately.
5. How to store Cystinol® acute coated tablets?
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use Cystinol® Acute Coated Tablets after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Storage conditions: Store below 25 ° C.

Active substance:
1 coated tablet contains 238.7-297.5 mg of bearberry, dry standardized leaf extract (Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi L.) corresponding to 70 mg of anhydrous Arbutin, Extract 60% Ethanol
The other ingredients are:
Microcrystalline cellulose, long chain glycerides, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 6000, magnesium stearate, silica, colloidal, anhydrous, colorants E 104, E 132 and E 171
