In the human body, lactic acid is produced by lactic acid bacteria, the so-called lactobacilli. It ensures an acidic environment, the perfect breeding ground for physiological microflora. The body's own lactobacilli are found particularly in the intestine and vagina.

Lactic acid occurs in two variants in nature. These differ in their structural properties. The names "right-handed" and "left-handed" come from the reaction of polarized light. If this hits a lactic acid molecule, it is rotated to the left or right, depending on its chemical structure.

It is noteworthy that the body's own lactic acid belongs exclusively to the right-handed category. The lactic acid in our product is produced by fermentation from sugar of plant origin. Our product contains 21% physiologically right-handed lactic acid.
