What is Desloratadine Heumann?
Desloratadin Heumann contains desloratadine, which belongs to the antihistamines.

How does desloratadine Heumann work?
Desloratadine Heumann is an antiallergic medicine that does not make you drowsy. It helps control your allergic reaction and its symptoms.

When should Desloratadine Heumann be used?
Desloratadine Heumann improves the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by an allergy, such as hay fever or house dust mite allergy) in adults and adolescents aged 12 and over. These symptoms include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate, and itchy, red, or watery eyes.
Desloratadine Heumann is also used to improve the symptoms of urticaria (a skin condition caused by an allergy). Symptoms include itching and hives.

The improvement in these symptoms lasts for a whole day and helps you resume your normal daily activities and regain your sleep.

If you do not feel better or worse after 10 days, contact your doctor.

HOW TO TAKE DESLORATADINE HEUMANN?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and adolescents (12 years and older)

The recommended dose is one tablet once a day with water, with or without food.
This medicine is for oral use.

Swallow the tablet whole (without chewing) with enough liquid (about a glass of water).
Regarding the duration of treatment, your doctor will determine the type of allergic rhinitis you are suffering from and how long you should take Desloratadine Heumann.

If your allergic rhinitis is intermittent (symptoms appear less than 4 days a week or last less than 4 weeks), your doctor will recommend a treatment regimen based on an assessment of your history of the disease.
If your allergic rhinitis is persistent (symptoms appear 4 or more days per week and last more than 4 weeks), your doctor may recommend longer-term treatment.

For urticaria, the duration of treatment may vary from patient to patient. Therefore, you should follow your doctor's instructions.

If you take more Desloratadine Heumann than you should
Only take Desloratadine Heumann as it has been prescribed for you or at the recommended dosage. Accidental overdose is unlikely to cause serious problems. If you have taken more Desloratadin Heumann than you should, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

If you forget to take Desloratadine Heumann
If you forget to take your dose on time, take it as soon as possible and then go back to your normal schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

• The active substance is desloratadine.
  Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg desloratadine.
  
• The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol (E421), magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) [vegetable], hypromellose, hyprolose, titanium dioxide (E171), indigo carmine, aluminum lake (E132).
