Composition of Diclofenac Apteo Med gel:
Active substance: diclofenac sodium (Diclofenacum natricum). 1 g of gel contains 10 mg of diclofenac sodium and auxiliary substances: propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, medium chain triglycerides, carbomer, hydroxyethyl cellulose, propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), purified water.
Action of Diclofenac Apteo Med gel:
Diclofenac sodium is an active substance from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema properties. The medicinal product Diclofenac Apteo Med gel has a hydro-alcoholic base, thanks to which it also pleasantly soothes and cools the place of application. The drug is used topically, e.g. in the case of post-traumatic inflammation of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints, as well as in adults in the case of osteoarthritis.
Application:
Diclofenac Apteo Med gel indicated for use in the treatment of post-traumatic inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints (e.g. sprains, contusions, strains), back pain, as well as limited soft tissue inflammation (e.g. tendinitis, tennis elbow) , bursitis, periarticular inflammation) in adolescents over 14 years of age and in adults, and in the treatment of limited and mild forms of osteoarthritis in adults.
Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. The possibility of using the drug in the first and second trimester should be discussed with your doctor, but it is recommended to use the gel only on the doctor's recommendation for the shortest possible time using the lowest doses. Use in breastfeeding women: only as prescribed by a doctor, but do not apply to the breast, or over a large area of the body, and do not use for a long time. Do not use on eczema, open wounds, broken skin, in the mouth and over large areas of the body. Long-term use is not recommended without consulting a doctor. Avoid contact with the eyes (if the gel gets into the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water) and with the mouth. In the event of a skin rash, application of the drug should be discontinued. In the event of sprains, the application site can be bandaged, but it must be an air-permeable bandage. The drug contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation. The drug contains propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions, including delayed ones. Diclofenac treated areas should be protected from sun exposure.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in the event of symptoms such as asthma attack, urticaria, acute rhinitis after the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not use in children under 14 years of age. Do not use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Some rare or very rare side effects can be serious. Discontinue use of the drug and contact your doctor if the following side effects occur: rarely - skin rash with blisters, urticaria; very rare - wheezing, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest (asthma), swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Other side effects (usually mild and temporary): common - skin rash, itching, redness or burning sensation of the skin; very rarely - increased skin sensitivity to sunlight. Signs of hypersensitivity are sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters; unknown frequency - burning sensation at the application site, dry skin.
Diclofenac Apteo Med gel dosage:
For external use only. Use as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. Apply topically 3-4 times a day. Spread the gel on the skin and rub it in gently. The amount of the preparation used should be adjusted to the size of the affected area, 2-4 g of gel (a portion of the gel comparable to that of a cherry or a walnut) is appropriate for an area of 400-800 cm2. Hands should be washed after use, unless the hands are the treated area. For adults and adolescents over 14 years of age, do not use for more than 14 days in case of strains and rheumatism without consulting a doctor. Do not use for more than 21 days without consulting a doctor for pain associated with osteoarthritis in adults (unless your doctor tells you otherwise).
