Composition of Diclofenac Apteo Med gel:

Active substance: diclofenac sodium (Diclofenacum natricum). 1 g of gel contains 10 mg of diclofenac sodium and auxiliary substances: propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, medium chain triglycerides, carbomer, hydroxyethyl cellulose, propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), purified water.

Action of Diclofenac Apteo Med gel:

The active substance in Diclofenac Apteo Med gel is the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac sodium. It has an analgesic, anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory effect. The indications for the use of the drug are, among others, post-traumatic inflammation of joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons. The gel can also be applied to adults with ailments related to osteoarthritis. Due to the use of a water-alcohol base, the preparation soothes and cools.

Application:
Diclofenac Apteo Med gel indicated for use in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age in the treatment of post-traumatic inflammation of tendons, muscles, ligaments, joints - in sprains, bruises, strains, in the treatment of back pain, as well as limited inflammation of tissues soft - tendinitis, tennis elbow, bursitis, periarticular inflammation). Also for use in adults in the treatment of limited and mild forms of osteoarthritis.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: in the first and second trimester, you can only use the drug as prescribed by a doctor and only in the lowest doses and for the shortest possible time, during breastfeeding, you can use the drug only as prescribed by a doctor, but not for a long time, not for large areas of the body and not on the breast. The drug should not be applied to eczema, open wounds, damaged skin, as well as the mouth and large areas of the body. Do not use for a long time without prior medical consultation. Contact with the mouth and eyes should be avoided, and if the drug comes into contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Stop the drug application, when a rash appears on the skin. If necessary (e.g. in case of sprains), a bandage (only breathable) can be applied to the application site. The drug contains propylene glycol - this component may irritate the skin. The drug contains propyl parahydroxybenzoate - this component may cause allergic reactions (also of the late type). Diclofenac treated areas should be protected from sun exposure.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in children under 14 years of age. Do not use in the third trimester of pregnancy. Do not use when symptoms such as asthma attack, urticaria, acute rhinitis have occurred after the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking this medicine. Side effects that occur rarely or very rarely can be serious. You should stop using the gel and contact your doctor if you experience the following side effects: rare - skin rash with blisters, hives; very rare - wheezing, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest (asthma), swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Other side effects (usually mild and temporary): common - skin rash, itching, redness or burning sensation of the skin; very rarely - increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight (manifested by sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters); unknown frequency - burning sensation at the application site, dry skin.

Diclofenac Apteo Med gel dosage:

For external use. Use the drug as directed by your doctor or as recommended on the leaflet. Apply the gel topically in an amount appropriate to the size of the affected area - 2-4 g of the gel (a gel portion comparable to that of a cherry or a walnut) is suitable for an area of ​​400-800 cm2. Use the drug 3-4 times a day. Apply the gel on the skin and rub it in gently. If the hands are not being treated, wash them thoroughly after using the preparation. In adults and adolescents over 14 years of age, without medical consultation, do not use for a period longer than 14 days in case of strains and rheumatism. In adults, without medical consultation, do not use for more than 21 days in pain associated with osteoarthritis (unless your doctor recommends otherwise). Please consult your doctor.
