  • Difortan gel contains etofenamate, an active ingredient that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The Difortan gel is indicated for topical use, among others at joint and muscle injuries and with rheumatism.

Composition Difortan, etofenamate gel:

Active substance: etofenamate. Excipients: isopropyl alcohol, glycerol, trolamine, carbomers and purified water.

Difortan, etofenamate gel action:

The indication for the use of Difortan gel is the treatment of rheumatic diseases as well as muscle and joint injuries. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, etofenamate acts as an analgesic and also reduces inflammation and swelling. The product Difortan gel is recommended for topical use.

Use Difortan, etofenamate gel :
Difortan gel indicated for use in the treatment of muscle and joint injuries, including: bruises, sprains, stretches, ligaments as well as in the treatment of rheumatic diseases, including arthritis and osteoarthritis. For use over 12 years of age.

Contraindications Difortan, etofenamate gel  :
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in children under 12 years of age in pregnant women. Do not use on mucous membranes, as well as around the eyes, on infected or damaged skin, on skin with wounds and eczema.

Difortan gel Side effects:
You may get side effects while taking the medicine. Immediate interruption of the application and consultation with the doctor is necessary in the event of: hypersensitivity in the form of skin rash, shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing; bullous changes (extensive changes on the skin in the form of redness, scaling, large blisters); photodermatitis (inflammation in the form of redness and pruritus on the skin at the place of application of the gel that has been exposed to the sun). Side effects by frequency: common - pruritus, erythema, local skin irritation (transient after treatment); rarely - contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, photodermatosis; very rarely - urticaria, bladder changes, toxic necrotic decay of the epidermis.

Dosage of Difortan, etofenamate gel :

The drug for external use.

Dose according to the doctor's instructions or the instructions on the leaflet. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application. Use the gel in the place of pain. Apply about 2.5-5cm gel once, rubbing it gently into the skin. Treatment of muscle and joint injuries: use 3-4 times a day for 14 days. Do not use for more than 14 days.

Treatment of rheumatic diseases: apply 2-3 times a day. Do not use for more than 21 days. After 3-4 days, improvement should be seen in the form of reduction of pain and inflammation. If after a week of use the condition has not improved or symptoms have deteriorated, a doctor should be consulted. Dose adjustment may be necessary for people with renal or hepatic impairment, so it is recommended that you consult your doctor.
