Sonoxen Doxylamine succinate 12.5 mg 14 tablets

Sonoxen is a medicine in the form of film-coated tablets, containing doxylamine as the active substance. Doxylamine belongs to the group of drugs with hypnotic and sedative effects. The medicinal product is intended for adults.

Composition

The active substance is doxylamine hydrogen succinate (Doxylamini hydrogenosuccinas).
One tablet contains 12.5 mg of doxylamine hydrogen succinate.
Excipients: Core excipients: calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate; microcrystalline cellulose; sodium starch glycolate (Type A); colloidal anhydrous silica; magnesium stearate. Coating excipients: hypromellose; polydextrose; talc; titanium dioxide (E 171); maltodextrin; medium-chain fatty acid triglycerides; cochineal red, lake (E 124); sunset yellow, lake (E 110); Quinoline yellow, lake (E 104).

Dosage

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults (aged 18 years and over): the recommended starting dose is 12.5 mg taken 30 minutes before bedtime.
The dose can be increased to 25 mg if the initial dose does not provide sufficient relief from insomnia symptoms.
The maximum daily dose should not exceed 25 mg (2 tablets) per day.
In case of feeling sleepy during the day, it is recommended to ensure at least an 8-hour break between taking the product and waking up or, in case of taking a dose of 25 mg, to reduce the dose next time to 12.5 mg (1 tablet).
The product should not be administered for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.

Action

The active substance of Sonoxen is classified as an antihistamine with a sedative and hypnotic effect.

The

drug is used for short-term, symptomatic treatment of sporadic insomnia in adults, especially in the case of: difficulty falling asleep, frequent night-time awakenings, early morning waking related to stress or time zone changes.
