Electrolytes Gastrolit 14 sachets

Gastrolit is a powdered oral rehydration solution containing a complex of electrolytes and glucose, which are deficient in dehydration, especially during diarrhea.
The glucose content provides energy to meet the body's basic needs and facilitates the absorption of electrolytes.
Active substances contained in chamomile extract have antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. Indications

:

Gastrolit, once dissolved, is used to prevent and treat mild dehydration associated with diarrhea in infants, children, and adults.

Composition

Gastrolit is a complex preparation, the active substances are
- sodium chloride 0.35 g
- potassium chloride 0.30 g
- sodium bicarbonate 0.50 g
- chamomile tincture 0.02 g
- glucose 2.98 g

Dosage in dehydration

- Infants - depending on the degree of dehydration, usually 50 to 100 ml/kg of the child's body weight during the first 4 to 6 hours, and then about 10 ml/kg of body weight after each liquid stool.
- Children 1 to 3 years of age - depending on the degree of dehydration, usually 50 ml/kg of body weight during the first 4 hours, and then about 10 ml/kg of body weight after each liquid stool.
- Older children, over 3 years of age - 500 ml during the first 4 hours (to quench thirst), and then about 100 to 200 ml after each liquid stool.
- Adults - 500 to 1000 ml for the first 4 hours (to quench thirst), then approximately 200 ml after each liquid stool.

Prevention of dehydration

- If diarrhea occurs before dehydration occurs, preventive doses are used - 10 ml/kg of body weight after each stool in infants and young children, 200 ml after each liquid stool in older children and adults.
- In the event of vomiting, failure to urinate within the first 6 hours of treatment, or other disturbing symptoms, medical evaluation is required. Breastfed or formula-fed infants should continue to receive the same food unless otherwise directed by a physician. Children over 1 year of age should continue to eat a diet appropriate for their age unless otherwise directed by a physician. A

precipitate may form from the solution, which does not affect the therapeutic value of the drug.
The medication should be administered to the patient as a drink after dissolving it in hot, boiled water (contents of 1 sachet in 200 ml of water) and allowing it to cool. The solution should not be sweetened.
Always use Gastrolit exactly as your doctor has instructed. If you have any questions, check with your doctor or pharmacist again.
