Folic acid contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy and to normal blood and cell formation. It supports the normal function of the immune system and can even reduce fatigue. As vitamin B₉, it is one of the B vitamins that work together to ensure that the psyche and mind work together harmoniously. The combination with vitamins B₆ and B₃ is particularly important - if you don't have enough of these, not as much serotonin can be produced.
Our Solgar ® Folate contains Metafolin ® , the already activated form 5-MTHF, which also occurs naturally and is directly bioavailable. In addition, folate supplementation significantly reduces the risk of malformations in children (so-called neural tube defects). To achieve the positive effect, 400 μg of folic acid should be taken daily in addition to a healthy and balanced diet for a period of at least one month before and up to three months after conception.
