What is Folic Acid Injectopas® 5 mg and what is it used for?
FOLIC ACID Injektopas® 5 mg is a vitamin preparation.

Areas of application:
Prophylaxis and therapy of folic acid deficiencies when oral folic acid substitution is not possible or the rapid elimination of a pronounced deficiency is urgently required.

How should Folic Acid Injectopas® 5 mg be used?
Always use FOLSÄURE Injektopas® 5 mg exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

For therapy in severe folic acid deficiency states:
0.2 ml to 1 ml FOLSÄURE Injektopas® 5 mg/day (equivalent to 1 to 5 mg folic acid).

For prophylaxis:
Depending on requirements, 0.2 ml to 1 ml / day (equivalent to 1 to 5 mg folic acid).

Method of administration:
Injection is intramuscular (into a muscle) or intravenous (into a vein).

Duration of use:
The duration of treatment depends on the extent of the folic acid deficiency and depends on the clinical picture and, if necessary, on the corresponding laboratory diagnostic parameters and is determined by the doctor for each patient.

FOLSÄURE Injektopas® 5 mg must not be mixed with other medicines.

If you use more FOLSÄURE Injektopas® 5 mg than you should:

No overdose symptoms are to be expected with occasional higher doses .

In patients with seizure disorders,
however, there may be an increase in the likelihood of seizures.

At high doses (above 15 mg per day and longer than 4 weeks),
gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders, agitation and depression can occur. In these cases you should contact your doctor

The active substance is: 1 ml injection solution FOLSÄURE Injektopas® 5 mg contains 5 mg folic acid.

The other ingredients are:
sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, water for injections.
