Folio 2 basic iodine-free
From the 13th week until the end of breastfeeding
Folio 2 basic iodine-free contains three important ingredients: folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D3. The product does not contain iodine and is recommended for those who cannot take additional iodine for medical reasons.
Folio 2 basic iodine-free (phase 2) provides the ideal amount of folic acid with 400 micrograms of folic acid from the 13th week of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding. The vitamin is particularly needed because it plays a role in cell division and contributes to the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy.
In the Folio 2 basic iodine-free tablets, folic acid is combined with 9 micrograms of vitamin B12. The two vitamins are dependent on each other in the methylation cycle, so an adequate vitamin B12 intake is just as necessary as an adequate folic acid status.
Vitamin D3 supports the maintenance of normal bones and muscle functions and contributes to a normally functioning immune system. Folio 2 basic iodine-free contains 20 micrograms of vitamin D3.
The vitamin D3 in the Folio 2 basic iodine-free tablets is obtained from sheep's wool and then purified to such a level that no traces of animal DNA can be detected.
How Folio 2 basic works: iodine-free
The micronutrients folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin D3 and iodine play a special role for the (expectant) mother. If additional iodine cannot be consumed for medical reasons, the product Folio 2 basic is available iodine-free.
Folic acid is a particularly important vitamin for pregnancy because it is necessary for cell division and the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy. Folic acid also contributes to normal blood formation and supports the normal function of the immune system.
Vitamin B12 is the cofactor of methionine synthase, which transfers a methyl group from 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate to homocysteine in the methylation cycle, creating methionine. If there is a lack of vitamin B12, this methyl group transfer does not take place, even if enough folate is present (so-called “folate trap”). Since this dependence of vitamins exists, it is essential to ensure an adequate supply of vitamin B12 at the same time.
The focus here is particularly on women who consume little or no meat or fish. In pregnant and breastfeeding women, vitamin B12 also contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous and immune systems, the normal formation of red blood cells and normal energy metabolism.
Vitamin D3 has the positive properties of supporting the maintenance of normal bones and muscle functions and contributing to a normally functioning immune system.
Folio 2 basic iodine-free (phase 2) contains the vitamins folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D3. With one mini tablet daily, the diet of pregnant and breastfeeding women can be supplemented sensibly and in a targeted manner.
For optimal preparation for pregnancy, it is best to use Folio 1 basic iodine-free (phase 1) with 800 micrograms of folic acid as soon as you want to have children and continue with this dosage until the end of the 12th week of pregnancy.
From the 13th week of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the need for folic acid (400 micrograms), vitamin B12 and vitamin D3 is ensured without iodine with Folio 2 basic .
Folio 2 basic iodine-free (phase 2) provides the ideal amount of folic acid with 400 micrograms of folic acid from the 13th week of pregnancy until the end of breastfeeding, if Folio 1 basic iodine-free with 800 micrograms of folic acid was previously taken. The vitamin is particularly needed because it plays an essential role in cell division and the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy.
Folic acid is combined with vitamin B12 in the Folio 2 basic iodine-free tablets. There is an important reason for this: folic acid (B9) can only develop its full effect in the presence of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is therefore also referred to as the “helper vitamin” of folic acid.
Vitamin D3 supports the maintenance of normal bones and muscle functions and contributes to a normally functioning immune system. The vitamin D3 in the Folio 2 basic iodine-free tablets is obtained from sheep's wool and then purified to such a level that no traces of animal DNA can be detected.
The mini tablets are free of nanoparticles, lactose, fructose, gluten, preservatives, colors and flavors.

Recommended dosage:
Take one mini tablet of Folio® 2 basic iodine-free once a day, whole, with a little liquid. It should preferably be taken during a meal or snack. This makes the absorption of vitamin B12 easier.
Use Folio® 2 basic iodine-free from the 13th week of pregnancy to ensure your vitamin supply. Your breastfed baby receives these nutrients through breast milk. Therefore, make sure you get enough vitamins even while breastfeeding!
Note:
An extra portion of folic acid is also useful for users of hormonal contraceptives (“folic acid robbers”).
Because there are no dyes, the inherent color of the nutrients it contains is visible. Folic acid gives the tablets a yellow base color. Dots that appear purple to black are due to the inherent color of vitamin B12.
Storage:
The tablets must be stored in a dry place, not above 25 °C and out of the reach of small children. Since the tablets are sensitive to moisture, storing them in the bathroom or refrigerator should be avoided.
Net capacity:
90 mini tablets
