   - Athlete's foot

   - Fungal infections of the scalp (microsporum)
How does the active ingredient in the medication work?

When applied externally, the active ingredient ketoconazole damages the outer layer, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi growing on the skin. This membrane loses some of its functions, becoming, for example, less permeable to nutrients – the cell starves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are either inhibited in their growth and reproduction, or they die directly due to additional damage to the cell's interior.

Apply the medicine to the affected area(s) of skin. Massage it in afterwards. Avoid accidental contact with the eyes.

How long should it be used?
Without medical advice, you should not use the medicine for longer than 2 weeks if your symptoms have not improved after this time. Use should be continued for at least a few days after symptoms have subsided. The average treatment duration is: 2-3 weeks for yeast infections, 3-4 weeks for skin fungal infections, and 4-6 weeks for athlete's foot.

Overdose?
If the medicine is used as described, no symptoms of overdose are known. If larger quantities are accidentally swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

Missed a dose?
Continue using the medicine as normal at the next scheduled time (i.e., do not double the dose).

General advice: Pay particular attention to accurate dosing, especially for infants, young children, and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any possible side effects or precautions.

A dosage prescribed by your doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor tailors the dosage to your individual needs, you should therefore use the medicine according to their instructions.
