GOaktiv® Injekt contains viscoelastic hyaluronic acid, which is injected directly into the affected joint. It improves joint lubrication, supplies the cartilage with essential nutrients, and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
At the same time, it supports the natural shock-absorbing function of the cartilage and can thus contribute to pain relief and improved joint mobility.
Treatment options for osteoarthritis
A complete cure for osteoarthritis is currently not possible, as damaged cartilage cannot regenerate. Therefore, therapy aims to alleviate symptoms, slow the progression of the disease, and preserve joint function. Various conservative and interventional measures are available for this purpose, including physiotherapy, pain medication, and intra-articular hyaluronic acid injections.
Hyaluronic acid injection treatment
Hyaluronic acid injections can partially restore the lost shock-absorbing function of the cartilage. The injection is administered directly into the joint space, where the hyaluronic acid acts as a viscoelastic buffer and improves joint lubrication. Depending on the individual symptoms and severity of the osteoarthritis, one or more injections may be necessary.
