Gripex

Hot is a powdered oral solution for use in the treatment of colds, flu, and flu-related symptoms. Gripex Hot contains three active ingredients: paracetamol, vitamin C, and phenylephrine, providing comprehensive relief: it clears the nose and helps combat fever and pain. The drug can be administered to adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

The

active ingredients are: paracetamol (Paracetamolum), ascorbic acid (Acidum ascorbicum), phenylephrine hydrochloride (Phenylephrine hydrochloride).
One sachet contains 650 mg of paracetamol, 50 mg of ascorbic acid, and 10 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride.
Excipients: aspartame (E951), sucrose, citric acid, sodium citrate, lemon flavoring, acesulfame potassium (E950), quinoline yellow (E104).

Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine is administered orally, after dissolving the contents of the sachet in a glass of hot water.
This medicine can be taken with or without meals.
Do not use Gripex Hot for longer than 3 to 5 days without consulting a doctor.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 sachet every 4-6 hours.
The maximum daily dose is 6 sachets per day. Gripex Hot provides comprehensive

relief

from flu and cold symptoms. The paracetamol contained in the medicine has an antipyretic and analgesic effect, while phenylephrine clears the nose by reducing swelling of the mucous membrane.

Indications

Gripex Hot is indicated for the relief of symptoms of colds, flu, and flu-like infections such as fever, headache, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, as well as symptoms of rhinitis occurring with colds and flu.

Contraindications

When not to use Gripex Hot:
- if you are allergic to the active substances or sympathomimetic amines or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you have the following conditions: unstable coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disturbances, high blood pressure, congenital glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and methemoglobin reductase deficiency, severe liver or kidney failure, viral hepatitis, alcoholism, phenylketonuria, narrow-angle glaucoma, anatomically narrow angle;
- during treatment with MAO inhibitors and for up to 2 weeks after stopping taking these medicines;
- while taking zidovudine (a medicine used to treat HIV infection);
- in children under 12 years of age.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Gripex Hot can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
Possible side effects:
- skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: allergic reactions (itching, hives);
- immune system disorders: hypersensitivity reactions up to anaphylactic shock symptoms (manifested by impaired consciousness, pale skin, drop in blood pressure, sweating, low urine production, rapid breathing, swelling);
- gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders, burning sensation in the epigastrium, dry mouth;
- circulatory system disorders: increased blood pressure, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), heart rhythm disorders, pale skin;
- respiratory, chest and mediastinum disorders: breathing disorders, bronchial asthma attack
; - kidney and urinary tract disorders: urination disorders, renal colic, renal papillary necrosis;
- nervous system disorders: anxiety, insomnia;
- mental disorders: hallucinations, anxiety, nervousness;
- blood and lymphatic system disorders: granulocytopenia (reduced number of one type of white blood cells in the blood), agranulocytosis (lack of one type of white blood cells in the blood), thrombocytopenia (reduced number of platelets).

Warnings and precautions

: Contact your doctor if you have: liver or kidney failure, bronchial asthma, prostatic hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism, Raynaud's syndrome (paleness followed by blueness of the fingers, toes, edges of the earlobes, and tip of the nose, often occurring in response to cold or emotion), coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes.
If you are taking anticoagulants, consult your doctor before using Gripex Hot.
During treatment with Gripex Hot, check whether other medicines you are taking do not contain paracetamol and nasal decongestants to avoid the risk of overdose. Use of the product by people with liver failure, alcohol abusers, or starving patients may pose a risk of liver damage.
This medicine contains sucrose. Patients with known intolerance to some sugars should consult a doctor before using this medicine. One sachet contains 1.981 g of sucrose, which is equivalent to approximately 0.2 carbohydrate exchanges.
This medicine contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine. May be harmful to people with phenylketonuria.

Storage:

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
Using other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

This medicine should not be used concomitantly with other medicines containing

- paracetamol (the active substance found in many cold and flu preparations);
- phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine (used for the symptomatic treatment of rhinitis, i.e. runny nose);
- other sympathomimetics or MAO inhibitors (used to treat low blood pressure or depression);
- zidovudine (an antiviral medicine used to treat HIV infections);
- anticoagulants;
- antiepileptic medicines;
- barbiturates;
- other medicines that induce liver microsomal enzymes (e.g. isoniazid);
- metoclopramide; -
anticholinergics;
- blood pressure lowering medicines;
- indomethacin;
- beta-adrenergic antagonists;
- tricyclic antidepressants;
- aluminum, iron - ascorbic acid reduces their absorption.

Taking this medicine with food and drink

This medicine can be taken regardless of meals.
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine due to the risk of toxic liver damage.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Gripex Hot should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Use in children and adolescents

This medicine should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Driving and using machines

This medicine may reduce the ability to concentrate and impair reaction time, therefore caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery.
