  • 40 mg ivy leaf extract (2.2-2.9:1); Extracting agent: ethanol 50% (V/V), propylene glycol (98:2)

Indication :
  • The medicine is a herbal medicine for colds of the respiratory tract.
  • The medicine is used for colds of the respiratory tract and to improve the symptoms of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases.
  • If symptoms persist for a long time or if shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
Dosage :
  • Always take the medicine exactly as described or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
    • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
      • for adults and children over 10 years:
        • 31 drops 3 times a day (corresponding to 300 mg of drug per day);
      • for children aged 4 - 10:
        • 21 drops 3 times a day (corresponding to 200 mg of drug per day);
      • for children aged 2 - 4 years:
        • 16 drops 3 times a day (corresponding to 150 mg of drug per day);

 

  • Duration of application
    • Do not take this medicine for more than a few days without medical advice.
    • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you have taken more than you should
    • If you take more of this medicine than you should, please tell your doctor.
    • This can decide on any necessary measures. The listed side effects may occur more frequently.

 

  • If you forget to take it
    • Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

 

  • If you have any further questions about taking the medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Please take the drops undiluted and drink plenty of fluids (preferably drinking water).
Side effects :
  • Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
  • possible side effects
    • Very rarely, allergic reactions (shortness of breath, swelling, reddening of the skin, itching) can occur after taking medicines containing ivy. Sensitive people may occasionally experience gastrointestinal complaints (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).
    • In appropriately sensitized patients, essential oils can trigger hypersensitivity reactions (including shortness of breath).
  • If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects that are not specified.
Interactions :
  • Taking together with other medicines
    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
    • No interactions are known.
  • Take with food and drinks
    • There are no special features to consider.
Contraindications :
  • The medicine must not be taken
    • if you are allergic to ivy leaves or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
    • in arginine succinate synthetase deficiency (metabolic disease of the urea cycle);
    • in children under 2 years of age due to the possible risk of worsening respiratory symptoms.
  • Other preparations are available for infants and children up to 2 years old.
Pregnancy and breast feeding period :
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
  • This medicine should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies.
