The most common skin change caused by UV radiation is actinic keratosis, an early form of non-melanoma skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma). One in ten Europeans over 40 is affected by this condition. Men are twice as likely to be affected as women.
Active ingredients:
Ariginin:
a component of the NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) – demonstrably increases the urea content in the stratum corneum – increases the skin's moisture level.
BioShield System:
The BioShield System combines the protective properties of OTZ-10 and Liposhield HEV Melanin, thus protecting against partial spectra of visible light as well as infrared A radiation.
Fernblock+:
2.5 times more effective than Fernblock FC due to a higher concentration of active polyphenols. Provides maximum antioxidant effect.
GenoRepair Complex:
a combination of three DNA repair enzymes (endonuclease, photolyase, and glycosylase). Activation of all three important DNA repair mechanisms (nucleotide, base excision repair, and direct repair). Works immediately and the effect lasts up to 4 hours.
Liposhield HEV Melanin:
is a synthetic melanin and part of the Heliocare 360° Bioshield System. It protects against the high-energy rays of visible light (400-500 nm) up to twice as well as natural melanin.
OTZ-10
(Oxothiazolidine): is a pro-taurine and part of the Heliocare 360° Bioshield System. It protects against the harmful effects of infrared-A rays (780-1400 nm) and is a natural antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals and protects DNA from damage caused by reactive oxygen species.
PLE:
is a natural plant extract obtained from the fern Polypodium leucotomos. PLE preserves dermal immune surveillance, protects skin tissue, neutralizes free radicals, and protects cellular DNA.
Sulforaphane:
increases the cellular anti-tumor response by increasing p53 expression (p53 is needed to control cell death and cell cycle arrest). When cell damage occurs, p53 expression increases, leading to cell cycle arrest until repair is complete, or cell death if repair is no longer possible.
UVB/UVA filters:
provide broad-spectrum protection against UVB and UVA radiation through the combination of advanced physical and chemical filters. This covers 90% of the absorption spectrum between 290–400 nm, thus reaching a critical wavelength of 370 nm.
Vederin:
is rich in oligofructose, which supports epidermal cell renewal and thus strengthens the skin barrier.
Application:
HELIOCARE 360° AK should be used daily as a protective measure alongside any AK therapy. Apply the cream liberally to all at-risk or already affected areas twice a day (morning and midday).
