The body's own L-carnitine is a transport molecule that has the task of transporting fatty acids into the mitochondria – the cells' power plants. There, the fatty acids are burned as part of the energy production.

For whom is L-carnitine particularly suitable?
L-carnitine is ingested with meat and foods containing meat, and sometimes also with fish. L-carnitine is rarely found in plant foods. Vegetarians and vegans often only take in small amounts of L-carnitine with food. To a limited extent, our body has the ability to form carnitine itself from the amino acids lysine and methionine. However, methionine is only present in small amounts in plant-based foods.

Take on an empty stomach in the morning before breakfast. For endurance loads of 1 hour, additional L-carnitine capsules can be taken 1 hour before training. Before the marathon also 3-5 g.

Take 1-2 capsules in the morning before breakfast on an empty stomach. As an endurance athlete, you can take 2 x 1-2 capsules of 500 mg L-carnitine each day. The best time to do this is about an hour before training. Before long-term exercise, such as a marathon, take 5 capsules.
