L-TRYPTOPHAN 400 mg Capsules 60 count
L-Tryptophan 400 mg
Essential precursor of niacin (vitamin B3), serotonin and melatonin
Approximately five hundred amino acids occur in nature. Twenty of these serve as building blocks for proteins in the human body; these are called fundamental amino acids and can be divided into the categories essential, semi-essential, and non-essential. L-tryptophan belongs to the so-called essential amino acids, meaning that the body cannot synthesize it from other amino acids. To meet its daily requirements, the body is entirely dependent on dietary sources. L-tryptophan is an essential precursor of niacin (vitamin B3), serotonin, and melatonin.
