  • Lactulosum syrup Takeda Forte is a medicinal product indicated in the treatment of chronic constipation and encephalopathy in the course of liver failure. The content of the active substance, or lactulose, in one milliliter of the drug is 667mg.

Composition:
The active substance is lactulose (in the form of liquid lactulose). 1 ml of syrup contains 667mg of lactulose. The remaining ingredient is purified water.

Action:
The active substance of Lactulosum Takeda Forte is lactulose. It is a synthetic disaccharide which, when administered orally, does not decompose with the participation of digestive enzymes, and is also not properly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. However, in the large intestine in contact with bacteria decomposes to organic acids, especially lactic acid, thanks to which it acidifies the contents of the large intestine. The products of lactulose degradation increase the volume of the contents of the intestine, stimulate peristalsis and have a laxative effect. In addition, lactulose reduces the concentration of ammonia in the blood in patients with encephalopathy.

Application:
Lactulosum Takeda Forte syrup indicated for use in chronic constipation and in encephalopathy in the course of hepatic failure (pre-coma and hepatic coma).

Additional information:
Keep the product out of reach of children at room temperature. The drug contains lactose, galactose and small amounts of fructose. The use of pregnant women and lactation, as well as women who suspect that they may be pregnant should consult a doctor.

Contraindications:

Do not use in the case of gastrointestinal perforation or the risk of its occurrence (eg in people with intestinal disease including Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
