POSTERISAN Acute Ointment
Posterisan akut 50 mg/g rectal ointment contains a locally acting pain reliever (local anesthetic) and is used to relieve painful and itchy discomfort in the anal area.
Posterisan akut 50 mg/g rectal ointment is used for
- Relief of anal pain before proctological examination,
- Relief from itching in the anal area. Posterisan akut 50 mg/g rectal ointment is used in adults.
Directions and dosage:
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is: The ointment is usually applied 2 to 3 times daily. The amount depends on the size of the skin and mucous membrane areas to be treated. Posterisan akut 50 mg/g rectal ointment contains a fast-acting and effective pain reliever. Therefore, it is sufficient to use the ointment sparingly. The maximum dose of 2.5 g of ointment (125 mg lidocaine) per single application should not be exceeded.
The ointment should only be used for a maximum of 3 days without medical advice, until you see a doctor. Please adhere to the recommended treatment duration even if you feel better sooner.
The ointment should be applied thinly to the affected skin and mucous membrane areas morning and evening, and ideally before (approx. 30 minutes) and after bowel movements, and gently rubbed in with a finger. For easier handling, it is recommended to store the ointment at room temperature (18°C to 25°C).
The 25g and 50g tubes contain a cap in the opening that must be pierced before first use. To fully open the tube, turn the cap over, push the spike all the way into the opening, and twist gently. To avoid sharp kinks, it is recommended to roll the tube up from the end after each use so that the front part is always fully filled.

The active ingredient is lidocaine. 1 g of rectal ointment contains 50 mg of lidocaine.
The other ingredients are: cetyl alcohol, macrogols, purified water.
