MEPILEX Border foam dressing 7.5x7.5 cm:
The dressing contains a contact layer of Safetac® that seals the wound edges and prevents leakage of exudate onto the surrounding skin. In this way, the risk of maceration is minimized. The Safetac contact layer also minimizes damage to the wound or the surrounding skin and reduces pain at dressing changes.
Thanks to its unique material construction, Mepilex Border is able to absorb more exudate than comparable silicone foam dressings. First, the absorbent foam pad absorbs exudate and prevents it from running back into the wound. This protects the skin surrounding the wound. The fleece distribution layer then distributes the exudate evenly over the entire surface within the retention layer. The highly absorbent retention layer absorbs and retains exudate to reduce the risk of leakage or maceration. The last layer is a highly breathable, yet waterproof protective film that ensures long-term wear and prevents the entry of bacteria and viruses into the wound*.
