  • Lactulose is used as a medicament constipation and laxative in the prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.

 

The composition of the MIP lactulose syrup, hepatic encephalopathy:


15 ml of syrup contains the active substance: 9.75 g (Lactulosum) lactulose

Functional Description:
The product with mild laxative. Disaccharide lactulose is non-digestible and absorbed in the small intestine. In the large intestine, where it is a medium for saccharolytic bacteria is degraded into shorter chain fatty acids, above all lactic acid and acetic acid, and methane and hydrogen. Lowering the pH and the osmotic effect of the stimulus to accelerate peristalsis. The formulation also reduces the absorption of ammonium ions and other toxic nitrogen compounds. Laxative effect usually occurs after 1-2 days after taking the full dose.

Indications for use:
Constipation. Prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.

Contraindications:
Syrup should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to lactulose or any of the other ingredients, intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal inflammation and disorders of fluid and electrolyte. It should not be used in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, impaired secretion of lactase, with galactosemia or impaired intestinal absorption of glucose and galactose.

 

Dosage MIP lactulose syrup, hepatic encephalopathy and administration:


Syrup should be taken orally. Doses should be adjusted to the patient, the severity and course of the disease. Dosing syrup is included with the package scoop. constipation

Adults: 10 to 15 ml Syrup (6 to 10g) 1 to 2 times a day. Children: depending on the age of 5 to 10 ml Lactulose-MIP (3 to 6 g lactulose) 1 to 2 times a day. Hepatic encephalopathy . doses should be increased gradually. Adults: initially 10 to 15ml of syrup lactulose-MIP (6 to 10g of lactulose) 3 times a day, then increased to 30-40 ml syrup lactulose-MIP (20 to 30 g lactulose) 3 to 4 times day.Dosage should be adjusted to the patient defecate loose stool 2 to 3 times a day.
