Biotin - also known as vitamin B7 or the "beauty vitamin" - belongs to the group of B vitamins and helps maintain normal hair. The body cannot produce biotin itself, so we have to get the vitamin from food. Biotin is found primarily in fresh fruit and vegetables, pulses, (whole grain) cereals and nuts.
The trace element selenium also helps maintain normal hair and nails and protects cells from oxidative stress. It should therefore not be missing from a balanced, healthy diet. Nuts, pulses such as lentils and cereals in particular contain selenium. Red vine leaves have a high proportion of flavonoids, which belong to the group of polyphenols. Their antioxidant properties can protect body cells from oxidative stress.
The pomegranate is also known for its antioxidant properties. The anthocyanidins contained in pomegranates, with their properties as radical scavengers, can also help protect body cells from oxidative stress.
