Hydrogel is a sterile, clear gel for the local treatment of chronic wounds (leg ulcers, bedsores) in the cleansing or granulation phase. Urgo Hydrogel favors the self-cleansing of the wound by moisturizing the necrotic areas of the skin, thus facilitating the gradual detachment of the dead tissue. In the case of chronic wounds (ulcus cruris, decubitus) that only slightly wet or dry out during the granulation phase, Urgo Hydrogel creates a moist environment that supports the healing process. Urgo Hydrogel can be used in conjunction with an occlusive hydrocolloid dressing (e.g. Algoplaque or Algoplaque Film) to keep the gel in constant contact with the wound.
