Niacin (vitamin B3) is a water-soluble vitamin that can be synthesized by our body from the amino acid tryptophan. It is present in almost all cells and influences our metabolism, tissue structure, our immune system and has antioxidant properties.

Niacin occurs in various forms. Niacinamide and inositol hexanicotinate are contained in our food and are converted by the body into the bioactive nicotinic acid. However, pure niacin causes the so-called flushing effect due to its vasodilating effect, which is noticeable through reddening of the skin, a feeling of heat and tingling. The two starting substances niacinamide and inositol hexanicotinate have therefore proven to be better as dietary supplements, as they do not cause these side effects.

For this preparation, we have chosen inositol hexanicotinate. This form of niacin is very effective, but is very well tolerated. One inositol molecule contains six niacin molecules, which are released over a time period and prevent the flushing effect.
