NIZORAL 2% Cream treatment of fungal diseases STADA
- This medicine is an antifungal drug for the external treatment of fungal diseases of the skin (antimycotic).
- It is used to treat fungal infections of the skin (dermatomycoses) such as fungal infections (e.g. athlete's foot, leg fungus) and skin fungus caused by microsporia, as well as infections caused by yeast fungi (thrush mycoses).
- This product is intended for use in adults.
How does the active ingredient in the medication work?
When applied externally, the active ingredient ketoconazole damages the outer layer, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi growing on the skin. This membrane loses some of its functions, becoming, for example, less permeable to nutrients – the cell starves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are either inhibited in their growth and reproduction, or they die directly due to additional damage to the cell's interior.

- Massage the cream in with your finger until it is absorbed.

Duration of application
- The symptoms of the illness usually subside significantly within the first 14 days of starting treatment. Continue treatment for at least a few days after the symptoms have disappeared to prevent a recurrence.
- Your doctor will tell you how often and for how long to apply the cream. Depending on the type of skin infection, treatment can last 2 to 6 weeks. The total treatment time averages 2 to 3 weeks for thrush, 2 to 4 weeks for ringworm (depending on location), and 4 to 6 weeks for ringworm on the feet.
- If the symptoms of the illness do not subside within the first 14 days after starting treatment, you must consult a doctor.

If you have applied a larger amount than you should
- Excessive or more frequent application to the skin than directed may lead to skin redness (erythema), fluid retention in the skin (edema), and burning. These symptoms disappear after discontinuing treatment.
