OCTENISEPT Disinfection preparation 250 ml
Octenisept is a disinfectant
used to disinfect wounds, skin, and mucous membranes. The preparation contains two active
ingredients
: octenidine and phenoxyethanol. They have bactericidal, fungicidal, protozoicidal, and virucidal effects. Octenisept is also widely used in dentistry, gynecology and obstetrics, proctology, urology, dermatology, geriatrics, and venereology. It is used before andrological and gynecological (intravaginal) examinations, for the treatment of perianal abscesses and infected surgical wounds, during catheterization, before procedures in the urinary tract, and before in vitro fertilization. Octenisept is also used in the oral cavity, for example, to treat canker sores or after tooth extraction. The drug has a strong disinfectant effect and supports the treatment of fungal infections, cell necrosis, and viral infections. Octenisept is most commonly used for skin disinfection before surgery, for postoperative wound care, in perinatal care, for dressing and disinfecting burn wounds, and for treating ulcers. Leaving a gauze pad soaked in Octenisept on the wound causes the necrotic tissue to separate, significantly shortening the healing time. Octenisept is recommended for
use
undiluted.
