Simple and quick wound disinfection with octenisept® Wound Disinfectant Spray.
Cuts, scratches, and abrasions are common and happen quickly, especially in everyday life or during sports. These skin injuries are usually harmless; however, if germs or bacteria colonize them, painful inflammation often follows. octenisept® Wound Disinfectant is a colorless, very well-tolerated spray for disinfecting acute and chronic wounds. The active ingredients in the wound spray have antiseptic properties and thus kill pathogens. Another advantage: thanks to its practical spray format, octenisept® Wound Disinfectant fits in any bag and can also be used on children. The benefits
at a glance:
• Reliably disinfects acute and chronic wounds
• Actively protects against infection
• Painless application
• Fast onset of action
• Suitable for all age groups*
• Safe to use during pregnancy (from the fourth month)
• Colorless spray
*Please refer to the package insert.
Application:
Before treating your own or a child's wound, wash and ideally disinfect your hands. Then clean the injury with water and carefully remove any small stones or splinters with clean tweezers. Then spray the wound, including the surrounding skin, with octenisept® wound disinfectant and allow the spray to take effect for one to two minutes before applying a dressing or plaster. For further wound care, we recommend octenisept® gel . It protects the wound from germs, promotes faster wound healing, and reduces scarring.

Mechanism of action: How does the ingredient(s) of the medicine work?
Both octenidine and phenoxyethanol in octenisept® Wound Disinfectant have an antiseptic effect – both substances combat pathogens. Phenoxyethanol primarily targets bacteria – octenidine also targets certain viruses and fungi. The wound spray thus effectively eliminates germs in acute skin injuries such as abrasions or cuts.
