OLEUM ZINCI oxidati cum Nystatino SR 100 g
There are various pathogens that can cause illness. Only a doctor can determine whether the medication is effective against the specific infection.
- Fungal infections, especially with yeasts, that are accompanied by inflammation, such as:
- Fungal infections of the skin
- Fungal infections of the mucous membranes
- Fungal infections in body folds, e.g., chafing under the breasts, on the buttocks, between the thighs
- Fungal infections between the toes or fingers (interdigital mycosis)
- Inflammation in the genital and anal area, such as:
- Diaper dermatitis (skin inflammation under a diaper)
How do the ingredients in the medication work?
Nystatin: This active ingredient damages the outer layer, the so-called cell membrane, of fungi. This membrane loses some of its functions, cell components leak out, and the cell can disintegrate. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are either inhibited in their growth and reproduction or killed directly.
Zinc oxide: Zinc oxide acts on the skin against pathogens and inflammation and promotes wound healing. It also binds moisture on the skin (e.g., in weeping, moist skin areas in skin folds), thereby reducing further softening and thus the potential penetration of pathogens.
