OREGANO OIL 80% Carvacrol 20ml (wild marjoram)

pack size:20ml Dosage form:drops

Oregano (wild marjoram) is an aromatic spice plant native to the mountains of Mediterranean countries.

This Mediterranean herb was already known in ancient times. It was also mentioned in many old herbal books, often under the meaningful name "Wohlgemuth". Origanum vulgare is the scientific name of oregano. Some of its interesting potential clinical applications have now been explored quite thoroughly.

Wild oregano is known for its powerful antimicrobial, antibiotic, antifungal, antioxidant, and antiviral properties. Can be used internally or externally and is helpful in the prevention and treatment of bacterial and viral infections, parasites, candidiasis, athlete's foot, insect bites and cold sores.

One study tested the effect of oregano oil on parasites in humans, with very positive results, with all subjects clearing the parasites and 7 out of 11 other gastrointestinal symptoms. Due to the particularly gentle, natural production, without artificial additives, one liter of oregano oil is obtained by steam distillation from 50 kg oregano leaves. The phenols carvacrol and thymol, as well as β-fencholic alcohol and γ-terpinene have been identified as the most effective ingredients in oregano oil.

Pure oregano oil tastes very intense.

As far as the composition of oregano oil is concerned, up to 56 different compounds have been identified. Not all species of the genus Origanum have the same proportion of carvacrol and thymol. In addition to the species, the climate, altitude and harvest time are other factors that determine the composition of the oil.

The species with one of the highest levels of carvacrol grows in the Mediterranean region and Turkey and goes by the name of Origanum minutiflorum. Especially with this species, the balance of the ingredients results in a unique synergy. Steam distillation has proven to be the best method to extract antioxidant properties and achieve the highest phenol content.
