Organic Turmeric Extract with Gingerol and Piperine in Oxymel
Roots are the nutrient stores of plants. It is therefore not surprising that the turmeric tuber is so popular, after all it contains a number of valuable plant substances. The small tuber is full of essential oils, starch, caffeic acid and small amounts of vitamins and minerals. One of the characteristic ingredients that make turmeric so unique is curcumin. Curcumin is the plant-based pigment that gives turmeric its typical bright yellow color. This is where the popular name 'Indian gold' comes from.
- Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) contains curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. The essential oil consists of 60% sesquiterpenes, such as turmerone, ar-turmerone, atlantone, zingiberene and various monoterpenes, such as borneol.
- Ginger (Zingiber) mainly contains essential oils and gingerol, which gives it its famous and popular spiciness. The small tuber also contains important plant substances such as borneol and cineole, zingiberene and zingiberol. It also contains small amounts of vitamin C, iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, phosphorus and sodium.
- Black pepper from Sri Lanka contains the alkaloid piperine, which gives the peppercorns their typical spicy note. It perfectly rounds off the extract and underlines the natural spiciness of the ginger.
- Oxymel, better known as sour honey, is used as the base. This is produced in a Demeter beekeeping facility under strict conditions from honey, water and apple cider vinegar.
Recommended use:
Add 2-5 teaspoons to a glass of 200ml lukewarm water or fruit juice
