What is Otodolor Glycerol (anhydrous) direct?
Otodolor direct is a preservative-free solution for dropping into the ear (external auditory canal). It only contains glycerol, a clear, colorless, viscous substance.
One vial contains 7 g of solution.

What is Glycerol (anhydrous) Otodolor directly used for?
The ear drops are used to relieve the discomfort of the external auditory canal, such as. B. irritation or itching applied, as they are often caused by chlorinated water, diving or wind, also for preventive use before and after bathing or diving.

When should Otodolor be used directly Glycerol (anhydrous) ?
Summer time means bath time! However, this often poses a risk to the ear, as many people regularly suffer from ear infections after swimming, bathing or diving. For this reason, the symptoms are also called "bathing otitis" or "swimmer's ear". But there are also other causes that can lead to ear canal inflammation. These include wrong ones
Cleaning measures with cotton swabs, matches or similar instruments; Frequent and prolonged wearing of "Walkman headphones" or headsets; Ear wax that clogs the ear canal; Foreign objects that have entered the ear. The too frequent use of washing-active substances, such as those contained in shampoos, shower gels or soaps, also destroy the natural protective film of the ear. The skin in the ear canal becomes more sensitive to any mechanical, thermal, or chemical irritation. Inflammation of the ear canal is the result. In the early stages, the ear canal is very itchy; swelling occurs, which is accompanied by varying degrees of pain. Glycerol in Otodolor directly cleanses and nourishes the skin, reduces swelling and
thus also leads to a decrease in pain.

When should Glycerol (anhydrous)  Otodolor not be used directly?
Otodolor direct should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to glycerol or an eardrum injury (eardrum perforation).

What is special about Glycerol (anhydrous) Otodolor direkt?
The ear drops contain glycerol, often also called glycerine, as the only component. It is a compound that occurs naturally in all vegetable and animal fats and oils. The highest content is found in coconut oil. Glycerol has two properties that are particularly important for use as ear drops: due to its oily character, it adheres well to the skin and contributes to its protection and care. In addition, it has a high water-binding or water-attracting capacity. This leads to water being withdrawn from the swollen tissue (osmotic effect) and the pressure in the tissue to decrease. The swelling goes down and the pain goes down. How do you use Otodolor directly?
If necessary, drip about 2–3 drops (at body temperature) into the ear canal of the affected ear with the patient lying on the side, which can then be closed with cotton wool.

How often and for how long should you drip Glycerol (anhydrous)  Otodolor directly?
There are no restrictions on the frequency or duration of use.

What other instructions for use should be observed?
If the symptoms do not subside after a few days or if a fever has set in, you should definitely consult a doctor.
Hearing aid wearers should use Otodolor about 1 hour before inserting the hearing aid.

Which instructions for the storage of Glycerol (anhydrous) Otodolor should be observed?
