Pregnancy is the result of the fertilization of a mature egg with a sperm. The expulsion of an egg from the ovary (ovulation) only occurs once during the menstrual cycle. If sexual intercourse occurs during ovulation, this can increase the chances of pregnancy.

The human luteinizing hormone (LH), which is normally present in small amounts in the urine, plays an important role in regulating ovulation and ovarian function during the menstrual cycle. Around 24-36 hours before the expulsion of the mature egg from the follicle, the LH concentration rises sharply (LH surge) and reaches its highest value in the middle of the cycle.

The LH ovulation test detects this LH increase and can roughly predict the likely time of ovulation for the next 24-48 hours. The LH ovulation test is a membrane-bound immunoassay test kit for the qualitative determination of the LH concentration in urine (35mlU LH/ml). Package contents:
