Propionic acid (also propanoic acid) is produced in our large intestine Special bacteria, the clostridia of our intestinal flora, are formed and belong to the group of short-chain fatty acids.
In order to produce propionic acid, the intestinal bacteria need sufficient fiber. The intestinal bacteria split fatty acids from the non-digestible fiber; these are mainly short-chain fatty acids such as acetic, butyric or propionic acid.
Since propionic acid in its pure form is highly volatile and has an unpleasant smell, our product Propionic Acid 1000 contains the corresponding white, odorless salt. Sodium propionate, the salt of propionic acid, is converted back into propionic acid and sodium (which is also contained in table salt) in the intestine.

Recommended consumption
2 capsules once daily, alternatively 1 capsule twice daily. It is ideal to consume it with a meal with 250 ml of still, lukewarm water.
