Rhinitis, Sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, Hitaxa Metmin - Nasal Spray
Dose 0.05 mg/dose
Packaging 1 bottle of 140 doses
Hitaxa Metmin-Spray contains the active ingredient mometasone furoate, which belongs to a group of medications called corticosteroids. Mometasone furoate should not be confused with anabolic steroids in tablet or injectable form, which are misused by some athletes.
Mometasone furoate, when administered intranasally, relieves the symptoms of rhinitis (swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa), sneezing, itching, and nasal congestion, and reduces nasal discharge.
What is Hitaxa Metmin-Spray used for?
Hitaxa Metmin-Spray is used in adults (over 18 years of age) to treat the symptoms of hay fever (also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis) after diagnosis by a doctor.
Hay fever, which occurs at certain times of the year, is an allergic reaction caused by inhaling pollen from trees, grasses, weeds, as well as mold and fungal spores.
Hitaxa Metmin-Spray reduces swelling and irritation of the nasal mucosa, thus relieving symptoms caused by hay fever, such as sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, and reducing nasal discharge. If you do not feel better after 14 days or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor.
The
active substance is mometasone furoate. Each delivered dose contains 50 micrograms of mometasone furoate as mometasone furoate monohydrate.
The other ingredients are
benzalkonium chloride, solution, glycerol, polysorbate 80, microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, and purified water.
How to use Hitaxa Metmin-Spray
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not use this medicine in higher doses, more often, or for a longer period of time than recommended in the leaflet.
Recommended dose:
Adults aged 18 years and over, including the elderly. The usual dose is two sprays in each nostril once daily. Some patients experience relief of symptoms within 12 hours of the first dose of Hitaxa Metmin-Spray, but the full benefit may not be seen within the first two days of treatment. Therefore, regular use should be continued to obtain the full benefit of treatment.
Once improvement is achieved, your doctor may recommend reducing the dose to one spray in each nostril once daily.
If you do not feel any improvement, contact your doctor.
If your symptoms do not improve or if the improvement is insufficient after 14 days of use, consult your doctor.
This medicine should not be used for longer than 3 months without consulting a doctor. If you have severe hay fever symptoms, your doctor may recommend that you start using Hitaxa Metmin-Spray before the start of the pollen season. This will help prevent hay fever symptoms from occurring. By the end of the pollen season, you may experience improvement and treatment may no longer be necessary.
When not to use Hitaxa Metmin-Spray:
If you are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you have an untreated infection of the nasal mucosa.
Using Hitaxa Metmin-Spray during an untreated infection in the nasal cavity, such as herpes, may worsen the symptoms of the infection. Wait until the infection has resolved before using the nasal spray.
If you have recently had nasal surgery or injuries. Do not use the nasal spray until the wound has healed.
