RINGER ACETATE Solution 10 x 500 ml
Ringer's acetate solution (10 × 500 ml)is an isotonic electrolyte infusion solutionIt is used for intravenous fluid and electrolyte replacement—for example, in cases of dehydration, mild acidosis, or as a carrier solution for compatible medications.
Composition and indications
The isotonic solution has the same electrolyte concentration as the human body.
One liter typically contains:
Sodium chloride : 6.0 g
Sodium acetate trihydrate : 3.7 g
Potassium chloride : 0.4 g
Calcium chloride dihydrate : 0.134 g
Magnesium chloride hexahydrate : 0.203 g
Due to the acetate it contains (which is converted into bicarbonate), the solution places less strain on the acid-base balance than classic saline solution. It is often used as a more tolerable alternative to Ringer's lactate solution.
Dosage and application
Administration is strictly intravenous. Dosage depends on age and weight and should not exceed individual fluid and electrolyte requirements (maximum recommendation for adults: approx. 40 ml per kg body weight per day).
