Tannin (tannin albuminate) acts directly where the diarrhea can be stopped most efficiently: on the intestinal wall itself. In this context, experts speak of the "active protection principle": tannin forms a protective film on the irritated mucous membrane and seals it off . The extreme infiltration of water into the intestine is prevented and intestinal function normalized. This will stop the diarrhea.

Ethacridine (ethacridine lactate) rounds off the comprehensive spectrum of activity of Tannacomp ® . Ethacridine has antibacterial properties and has a disinfectant effect. It inhibits the growth of harmful germs and pathogens. Ethacridine also has an antispasmodic effect, so that abdominal cramps can be relieved quickly.
Ingestion and dosage of Tannacomp ® Always
take Tannacomp ® exactly as instructed in the package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The dose and frequency of intake depend on the severity of the diarrhea. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
Children 5-14 years: 1 film-coated tablet 3 to 4 times a day
Adults and adolescents from 15 years: 1-2 film-coated tablets 4 times a day
Adults for prevention: 1 film-coated tablet 2 times a day
Basically, Tannacomp ® should be used regularly until the diarrhea subsides be taken. If you don't feel better after 3-4 days, contact your doctor.
The film-coated tablets are taken with sufficient liquid before or with meals. If necessary, you can also crush the film-coated tablets and mix them with food or drinks.
