Taurine 500 mg Capsules 60 count
L-Taurine 500 mg
Approximately five hundred amino acids occur in nature. Twenty of these serve as building blocks for proteins in the human body; these are called fundamental amino acids and can be divided into the categories essential, semi-essential, and non-essential. Taurine owes its name to the Latin name for bull bile (fel tauri), because it was first isolated from ox bile. From a biochemical perspective, it is not a true amino acid (although it is considered one) and is not incorporated into proteins. In the body, taurine is found primarily in nerve tissue, the eyes, the blood, and muscle tissue. Among other things, it aids in the formation of bile acids.
