Tiavella is a vitamin drug containing benfotiamine, i.e. vitamin B1, in the amount of 50 mg per tablet - intended for the treatment of deficiency of this vitamin in adults.
Vitamin B1 is found naturally in many foods (especially yeast, whole grains, meat and beans), but the body sometimes requires it to be supplemented. This may be because your diet does not contain enough vitamin B1, or your body is not absorbing enough vitamin B1. You may also have an increased need for vitamin B1 (e.g. if you have diabetes), especially if it is eliminated quickly (e.g. in urine), if you have consumed excessive amounts of alcohol in the past, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding .
