Valerian root is a popular herbal sleep aid available in tea, capsules, and tinctures. Valerian root may help improve sleep and reduce anxiety, but is not advised as a treatment for long-term insomnia.
Composition: 100 g Caelo valerian tincture contains: 200 g valerian root tincture (1:5 [drug to extractant ratio]) Extractant: ethanol 70% (V/V)
Areas of use: restlessness, nervousness-related difficulty falling asleep.
Contraindications: Valerian tincture should not be used by alcoholics. Because of the alcohol content, valerian tincture should only be used by people with liver disease, epileptics, brain disease or brain damage after consulting a doctor.
Side effects: When taking valerian tincture, even when used as directed, the ability to react can be altered to such an extent that the ability to actively participate in road traffic or operate machinery is impaired. This applies even more when taken in combination with alcohol.
Warning: Contains 66% alcohol by volume. If the dosage instructions are followed, up to 1.2 g of alcohol is consumed with each intake. There is a health risk for people with liver disease, alcoholism, epileptics, brain disease or brain damage, pregnant women and children. The effect of other medicines can be impaired or increased.
