Alongside vitamin C, the sunshine vitamin D3 rightly takes its place among the best known vitamins. Although the body can produce it itself with the help of UV radiation, many people in our latitudes have insufficient vitamin D levels. This is mainly because during the winter not enough sunlight reaches our skin to produce the vitamin. Supplementation is therefore recommended, especially during the cold months.
Our high-dose vitamin D3 is obtained from sheep's wool wax, which is created as a by-product when the animals are sheared. Cholesterol is extracted from this, which is converted into cholecalciferol in a synthetic process, the most important physiological form of vitamin D3 for our body.
The product is based on cold-pressed sunflower oil, combined with the integrated pipette attachment, the vitamin D3 oil can be easily dosed into prepared dishes without altering their taste. Ideally, this is a fatty meal. This is the best prerequisite for absorption, as vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin. One drop of the oil contains 1,000 international units of vitamin D3.
