CDL Set: Chlorine dioxide for self-production - Sodium chlorite + hydrochloric acid
Chlorine dioxide consists of chlorine and oxygen and is known to chemists by the chemical formula ClO2. Although it contains "chlorine" in its name, it behaves differently than the gaseous compound. Chlorine dioxide is produced when sodium chlorite is mixed with a highly dilute acid – and these are also the two components of the set:
- Component A: 25% sodium chlorite
- Component B: 4% hydrochloric acid
When combined, the actual active ingredient chlorine dioxide is released.

Note regarding the production container:
Please choose a glass or ceramic container. Do not use a metal container, as this would cause a reaction!
Shelf life:
After activation of both components together, the CDL has a shelf life of 6 months.
Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
